Bank Card Discount Codes in the Gulf: How They Work

A bank-card offer only works when you pay with an eligible card from that bank. Some need a code, such as FAB25 on Careem, and others apply automatically at checkout. They almost always carry a cap, a minimum spend and a monthly or per-customer limit. Many exclude Apple Pay and other wallets, and stores like noon will not combine them with a promo code.

Where banks publish their offers

  • FAB lists credit-card offers with end dates on its offers pages (FAB offers).
  • Mashreq has an offers section you can filter by category and emirate, and separate campaign pages for store tie-ins (Mashreq offers).
  • Emirates NBD publishes terms for each offer as PDFs on its own domains (example).
  • Al Rajhi Bank lists card offers and mokafaa loyalty partners under Personal > Offers (Al Rajhi).
  • SNB lists offers with eligible and excluded cards (SNB).
  • Riyad Bank publishes offer pages per partner (Riyad Bank).
  • Stores also show live bank offers. noon puts them in the payment section at checkout, on eligible product pages and on sale pages (noon help).

We could not load ADCB's offer pages, and SAB's offers page did not show offer details, so neither is quoted here. SAB's noon card is covered below.

Typical caps, minimums and limits

Real examples from banks' own pages, checked on 16 October 2026:

  • FAB on Careem: 25% off up to AED 50 on Careem Food or Quik orders of AED 125 or more, with code FAB25 and a FAB Mastercard credit card. Once a month, until 31 December 2026 (FAB).
  • SNB on HungerStation: SAR 15 off with code MC15 on a minimum order of SAR 80, two orders a month. Not valid with Apple Pay, Mada Pay or Samsung Pay; runs until 31 December 2026 (SNB).
  • Al Rajhi on HungerStation: 10% cashback to the Cashback Plus Signature card, within an SAR 200 monthly cap for food delivery apps. A further 5% goes to the HungerStation wallet with promo code ARBPlus, capped at SAR 50 per transaction and not valid through digital wallets (Al Rajhi).
  • Riyad Bank on Jahez: 400% cashback capped at SAR 200, once a day for 24 hours after an Al-Hilal win, on Al-Hilal credit cards. This one does work with Apple Pay (Riyad Bank).
  • Points instead of discounts: Al Rajhi's mokafaa earns 1 to 3 points per SAR 1 on Jahez orders from SAR 35, depending on order size. You link it with your registered mobile number, not a code (Al Rajhi mokafaa).

Why the offer is tied to your card number

A bank pays for, or shares the cost of, its offer, so the store has to confirm that you are paying with that bank's card. Stores do this from the first digits of the card number, known as the BIN or IIN, which identify the issuing bank and card type. This is our explanation of how it works in general; the bank pages we read describe the result, not the mechanism. They say:

  • Emirates NBD's Careem terms required the eligible card to be added to Careem and used for payment, as well as the code (Emirates NBD).
  • SNB lists which of its cards qualify and which are excluded (SNB).
  • noon says bank discounts apply only when the eligible physical card is used directly, not Apple Pay or another wallet (noon).

That is why a valid bank code can fail if you pay through a wallet, with a different card from the same bank, or with a card from another bank.

How bank offers differ from promo codes

  • Who can use it: a promo code works for anyone who meets its terms. A bank offer works only for holders of the listed cards.
  • Code or no code: some bank offers need a code (FAB25, MC15). Others apply automatically. noon says bank discounts need no voucher code (noon), and a past Mashreq noon offer gave the discount instantly with no code (Mashreq).
  • Stacking: stores decide. noon allows one discount per order, so a promo code, coupon or noon credits blocks the bank discount. SNB's HungerStation offer, by contrast, can be used with other running HungerStation offers.
  • Payment method: bank offers often exclude wallets and BNPL. The Mashreq noon offer was not valid with Tabby or Tamara.

Co-branded store cards

Some banks issue store cards that pay back on every purchase, with no code needed:

  • Emirates NBD noon One Visa (UAE): 5% cashback on noon services, 20% on noon Food, and no annual fee (noon).
  • Mashreq noon Credit Card (UAE): 5% cashback and no annual fee (noon).
  • SAB noon VISA (KSA): 10% cashback on noon services, capped at SAR 1,000 a month, with an annual fee of SAR 199 + VAT (noon, fee).
  • Amazon Emirates Islamic Mastercard (UAE): up to 6% back on Amazon.ae for Prime members, 3% for non-Prime members, and no annual fee (Amazon.ae).

Checklist before you rely on a bank offer

  1. Open the offer on the bank's own site and check the end date.
  2. Check your exact card is listed: credit vs debit, Visa vs Mastercard, and any excluded cards.
  3. Note the cap, the minimum spend and the per-month or per-customer limit.
  4. Pay with the physical card details if wallets are excluded.
  5. Remove any promo code or store credit if the store allows only one discount.
  6. Do not pick BNPL if the offer excludes it.
  7. For cashback offers, check when and where it is credited: to the card, a store wallet or points.

Questions people ask

Why did my bank discount code not work?

The most common reasons are paying with a wallet such as Apple Pay, using a card that is not on the eligible list, missing the minimum spend, having already used the monthly limit, or having another discount on the order.

Do I need a code for a bank offer?

It depends on the offer. FAB’s Careem offer needs code FAB25 and SNB’s HungerStation offer needs MC15, while noon applies its bank discounts automatically at checkout.

Can I combine a bank offer with a store promo code?

Only if the store allows it. noon allows one discount per order. SNB says its HungerStation offer can be used with other running HungerStation offers.

Do bank offers work with Apple Pay?

Some do and many do not. SNB, Al Rajhi’s 5% wallet cashback and noon’s bank discounts exclude wallets, while Riyad Bank’s Jahez offer is valid for Apple Pay.
